Today computers, even that PC on your desk are unbelievably complex and nobody explain this in few words.For example,One can say say that your keyboard is an input device and your computer screen is an output device. But what about a touch screen? A touch screen is both an input device and an output device.Mainly The computer keyboard is the peripheral unit of the computer that helps in typing in the words and numbers along with the symbols and thus communicate with computer. In other words, it is the way to feed information that needs to processed into your computer.

The main thing to understand is that a computer consists of hardware and software. Hardware is the physical, mechanical part of the computer which is touchable and seen.The computer system that comprises of a computer, that is, monitor, keyboard, mouse,printer, computer unit, scanner, etc. is known as the hardware and these parts are hardware parts.Software is the instructions that a computer follows.The instructions that are given to the computer with step-by-step actions that help executing a specific task is a software.

A computers has many kinds of storage media. Storage media can be divided into two general types; “volatile” and “nonvolatile” memory. Volatile memory forgets everything when you turn the power off. Nonvolatile memory (RAM) remembers everything permanently.

Nonvolatile memory, like tape storage, is sequential. You have to read a tape in sequence to access the data that you’re looking for. Volatile memory is usually referred to as RAM, for Random Access Memory. With RAM you can go directly to the data your looking for. Today we have all kinds of nonvolatile RAM, so using using the term RAM for volatile memory is a misnomer.
Random Access Memory or RAM is the temporary storage space in the computer that helps place information so that is can execute the program and instructions given. Once a program is closed, the data is removed from RAM. The amount of RAM helps in determining the number of programs that can be run.
